Mike has over twenty years of experience in IT, leading effective teams in implementing industry-standard and leading technologies, and leading agile implementations.

In 2007, after reading the “JUnit Pocket Guide”, Mike created a suite of fast unit tests on the project he was working on at the time. Even though it wasn’t all wine and roses (including writing a bunch of integration tests and thinking they were unit tests), the confidence his team found by having a suite of automated tests was astounding. Mike then moved into consulting around the Chicago area, and eventually expanding to traveling nationwide to deliver value to clients.

Over the past 7 years, Mike has led teams in implementation, Continuous Delivery/DevOps, and agile coaching, working with product owners, developers, testers, architects, scrum masters, and management along the way. Mike has consulted at organizations such as Blue Cross/Blue Shield Association, JP Morgan Chase, Kroger, Southwest Airlines, Fannie Mae, CNH Industrial, TD Ameritrade, and others.

Mike is a new resident of Burnsville, Minnesota, where he spends time riding his Trek road bike learning all the new bike paths around southern Minnesota. Having logged well over 20,000 miles on his bikes over his 20 years of cycling, he looks forward to finding how far he can go in his new home. Mike also loves to travel, having visited six continents so far; he looks forward to traveling to Africa someday soon to “complete the set.”
