Agility Assessment

There is a great movement in software development today towards what are called agile methodologies, like eXtreme Programming. We like agile methodologies because they work and we know that from experience. However, we also know from experience that agile methodologies like eXtreme Programming are not meant for every organization or project. Indeed, some shops simply aren't capable of making the kinds of organizational changes required by agile methodologies.

Our Agility Assessment is a tool by which you may learn how agile your organization is or wants to be. The assessment usually takes between 2 and 5 days to complete, assuming all key parties are accessible.

During the assessment, we interview developers, database and QA staff, managers and executives. We introduce agile ideas and we ask lots of questions.

Towards the end of the assessment, we formulate a plan of action, based on our findings. The plan could recommend that you:

stick to your current process
migrate to some basic processes from agile methodologies
implement an agile methodology, like eXtreme Programming, on one important project
get training in an agile methodology, like eXtreme Programming
implement some mixture of the above
