Actually the relative difficulty of the problem code is what helped me the most to understand these patterns. I think when you start struggling and experimenting with why your code doesn't work, you start to really get the pattern. I think the class is a wonderful idea. I was a little skeptical about how much communication there could be in a web-based workshop, but was pleasantly surprised.
